- Education is a conscious and deliberate effort to create a civilization that is dignified, knowledgeable, and skilled, so that it can create the civilized generation. In this study, the writer investigates the implementation of 2013 curriculum faced by English teacher at SDN Blimbing 3 Malang. This study focuses on the problems and the ways of the English teacher to cope with the problems in implementing 2013 curriculum at SDN Blimbing 3 Malang. This study was conducted on descriptive qualitative design to draw data to the topic discussed. The subject of this study was English teacher at SDN Blimbing 3 Malang. The instruments to collect the data were observation and interview. The writer used observation to answer the first statement of problems that was related to kinds of problems which were faced by the English teacher in implementing 2013 curriculum. Furthermore, the writer chose interview in order to answer the second problems of how to cope with the difficulty in implementing 2013 curriculum. Meanwhile, the instruments to collect the data were non-participant observation and semi-structured interview. The result of this study showed that there were three problems in implementing 2013 curriculum faced by the English teacher at SDN Blimbing 3 Malang. They were difficulties in finding textbook, assessing difficulty, and no exact core and basic competence. To overcome the problems in implementing 2013 curriculum, the English teacher did several ways, such as reusing the studentsÂ’ worksheet based on School-Based Curriculum, arranging the scoring rubric, and constructing the core and basic competence based on School-Based Curriculum.
