  • Self-efficacy belief on writing English is the variable that may influence the students to use self-regulation learning strategy. In this study, the researcher tries to find out whether there was significant or there was no significant relationship between those variables to confirm or disconfirm the hypothesis. Moreover, the participants are the students at English department at University of Muhammadiyah Malang (UMM). The correlational research was used as a research method in this study. This study employed random sampling as the technique in choosing the sample. For the purpose of collecting data, there were 78 students participated in this present research, and they were selected randomly from 7th and 9th semester students. In line with that, the researcher used the questionnaire (Likerts Scale) as the instrument to collect the data. Then, the data was analyzed by using SPSS software version 21 of PearsonÂ’s Product Moment correlation. Based on the result of correlation analysis, it was found that there was positive correlation between those variables (r=.482) for significant level 0.05. It indicated that the level of correlation was moderate. Then, it can be used to measure the significant relationship between self-efficacy belief and self-regulation learning strategy on writing English essay, although the correlation was moderate but it was significant. In other words, the null hypothesis (H0) was rejected and the alternative hypothesis (H1) was accepted. Deskripsi Alternatif :
