  • The purposes of this studies were to classify the types of subject-verb agreement errors found in writing descriptive paragraph made by 10thgraders at SMKN 3 Malang and to describe causes of agreement errors in writing descriptive paragraph made by made by 10thgraders at SMKN 3 Malang. This research used mix method; they were quantitative research design and descriptive qualitative research design.For answering the first research problem, the researcher used quantitative research design to categorize the types of agreement errors and count the total number of errors found in writing descriptive paragraph. Meanwhile, for answering the second research problem, the researcher used descriptive qualitative research design to show studentÂ’s causes of agreement error in writing descriptive paragraph. The researcher also used documents and interview as instruments to get the data of this research. The researcher found two results in this study. Firstly, it was found that there were two kinds of errors subject-verb agreement made by the 10th graders of Teknik Jaringan Komputer 2 Department at SMKN 3 Malang in writing descriptive paragraph. They are: (1) basic of subject-verb agreement errors, (2) subject-verb agreement: using there + be errors. Secondly, the researcher found that there werethree types of the causes of errors which made the students got difficulties in using subject-verb agreement in their writing paragraphs. They were inter-lingual error, intra-lingual error, and context of learning.
