  • The research focuses on the use of flashcard to improve the speaking skill of the seventh grade students at Mts Al-Urwatul wutsqo jombang. The aim of the research was to investigate whether or not using flashcards in teaching speaking improves the studentsÂ’ speaking skill. In this study, the writer used experimental design. In this case, the experimental group was given a treatment using flashcards and the control group was treated without using flashcards. The population of the research was the seventh grade students of MTs Al-Urwatul Wutsqo Jombang, which consisted of 44 students. The instrument of the study was a speaking test. The data of this study were analyzed by using ANOVA. The result of ANOVA computation showed that the value of F-ratio was 4.96, with the level of significance of 0.03 and the degree of freedom of 84, then the F-table value was 2.71. The data showed that the value of F-ratio was much greater than that of F-table. Therefore, the hypothesis stating that teaching speaking using flashcards improves the students’ speaking skill was accepted.
