- Javanese language is the language used by some regions in Java, from the west to the east Java. Even though, Javanese people used same language, the differences still appeared in the vocabularies and pronunciation when they make conversation in their daily activities such as that they used on facebook to update statuses and give comments. The aim of this study is to describe the Javanese dialect used on facebook to update status and give comment then each word is compared with the Standard Javanese. It is limited on the vocabulary in four parts of speech (noun, verb, adjective and adverb). This study used qualitative research where the observation is used as the technique of collecting data and documents as the instrument of the observation. The writer found that there were about forty one Javanese words used by Javanese to update status and give comment on facebook. Those vocabularies were divided into eleven nouns, sixteen verbs, six adjectives, and eight adverbs. From those data, it could be concluded that there were sixteen different vocabularies (nine of them are totally different vocabularies and seven of them are different vocabularies by omitting phoneme). Although Javanese people use the same language, they have differences in using Javanese language. The differences could be found on their vocabulary in their daily activities like what they used on facebook to update status and give comment. This differences was caused by the regional factor that influence their dialect, then became their identity that make them unique and different each other.
