- In this research, the researcher was interested in exploring teaching learning activities of speaking in Bahasa Inggris textbook for tenth graders of senior high school based on the 2013 Curriculum. This research was attempted to answer (1) teaching learning activities of speaking skill in Bahasa Inggris textbook, (2) the dominant activities of teaching learning of speaking. In analyzing the textbook, the researcher used descriptive qualitative research design. The research object was Bahasa Inggris textbook for tenth graders of Senior High School based on the 2013 Curriculum. It was published by The Minister of Education and Culture. The instruments used were researcher herself and document. The finding of this research showed that teaching learning activities of speaking in Bahasa Inggris textbook for tenth graders of senior high school based on the 2013 curriculum consist of 9 activities. Those activities are playing script, acting out the dialogue, communication game, prepared talk, picture describing brainstorming, interview, role play, and discussion. Among 9 activities mentioned, communication game is the dominant activity of this English textbook. The researcher expected that the result of this research would be useful for English teachers, the writer of the textbook, and the next researchers. It was suggested that the English teacher should use Bahasa Inggris textbook as a source of teaching particularly in teaching speaking. In addition, the writer of the textbook should provide more varieties of speaking activity in the next publishing. It was expected that the next researchers could investigate the other skill of language such as reading, listening, and writing.
