- Why should pension is a period of where someone experiences disconnection of the relation of activity which because of age factor. During this someone will experience change as a whole in its life pattern. Change of life pattern can make some people to experience dread at the time of facing a period of pension. Here the role of locus of control from someone will assist in lessening the dread. Dread faces pension that is life pattern end or transition to new life pattern when individual will enter a period of pension by marked with symptom somatis, behavior, emotion and cognate. Dimension locus of control to depict how far individual believes that all results or as result of that is because factor is outside x'self (locus of control external).As for this research is to know relation between locus of control external with dread faces pension. This research is research of population with population 27 employee PT. Pertamina (Persero) Mangosteen Transit Denpasar with responder having age 52 to 55 years. Data collecting technique applied that is by using scale, that is dread scale faces pension and scale locus of control. For data analysis method by using correlation technique product moment from Karl Pearson with help of program SPSS version 1000 From data analysis which has been done got result that (r = 0,619 and p = 0,018) indicates existence of positive relationship and hardly significant between locus of control external with dread faces pension, this thing means increasingly external locus of control hence dread tendency faces higher pension. As for effective contribution of variable locus of control external pads dread faces pension is equal to 38,3% seen from determinant coefficient (r2) 0,383. This thing means variable locus of control external renders 38,3% to dread to face pension while the rest 61,7% is other variable of which is not is checked.
