  • Internal locus of control is one of the personality factors that influence to prosocial behavior. The locus of control plays a role in influencing and determining the individual for decision making, where the process of doing the behavior required prosocial personal responsibility and courage in making decisions. In this case people who have intenal locus of control typically will take personal responsibility and courage in taking action compared to individuals with low internal trends, which tend to be less confident and less courage in taking action, so that peoplewho have high internal locus of control is more prosocial. Therefore, this study aims to determine the relationship between internal locus of control with prosocial behavior of orphanage adolescents. This research is correlational research because aims to detect the extent of variation in one variable associated with variations in one or more other variables based on correlation coefficients. The populations in this study were all young Muhammadiyah orphanage Kediri totaling 37 children with a sampling technique that is the total sampling or the total amount of population, because the number of subjects is lees than 100. The data collected using two scales internal locus of control scale and prosocial behavior scale. While the data analysis method used in this study is the product moment correlation. Result of this research mentions that there is significant positive correlation between internal locus of control with prosocial behavior of orphanage adolescents. This showed with r value as correlation coefficient 0,523: by significance value (p) = 0,001. Means that internal locus of control is high so that impact low prosocial behavior. Effective contribution of variable internal locus of control to prosocial behavior of orphanage adolescents in this research 27,4% while the rest 72,6% were influenced by others factor that’s not researched.
