- Background : Diabetic nephropathy is one of chronic complications of diabetes mellitus in kidney. Its incidence follows the increase of diabetes mellitus from year to year. Diabetic nephropathy could also end up with renal failure condition that can affect quality life of patient. Purpose : It is to know the profile of diabetic nephropathy patient in polyclinic of metabolic endocrine of dr. Saiful Anwar General Hospital of Malang, period of January to December 2009. Research Method : It employs observational descriptive with cross sectional approach. The population are outpatients of diabetic nephropathy in polyclinic of metabolic endocrine of dr. Saiful Anwar General Hospital of Malang. Result and Conclusion : From 235 samples of diabetic nephropathy patients, the case rate of diabetic nephropathy in DM type I is 12.50%, the case rate of diabetic nephropathy in DM type II is 14.76%, most of them are female (60.85%), most of patients are of 5160 years old (34.04%), the longer case history of being diabetes on DM type I is for 04 years (34.61%), the longer case history of diabetes on DM type II is for 04 years (40.22%), the most blood pressure is at stage II of hypertension (29.36%), the most control of blood glucose are on poorly control of blood glucose (80.42%), the most levels of proteinuria is on proteinuria +2 (35.74%), and the case rate of renal failure complications are 11.48%.
