  • Leadership is an influential aspect in improving employee performance. Therefore, this study aims to determine the leadership and performance of employees as well as measuring and analyzing a significant influence on employee performance leadership variables SMU Muhammadiyah University of Gresik 3 Branches Bungah. This research is a case study of the nature of explanation (explanatory) where the sample is an employee of SMU Muhammadiyah Gresik 3 Bungah Branch 32 employees is determined by the total sampling (census). Variables in this study consists of independent variables and the dependent variable leadership employee performance. Data was collected by questionnaire through a measurement based on Likert scale 1-4. In this case the validity of the questionnaire was to test the product moment correlation and Cronbach alpha reliability test. The research hypothesis stated that there is a variable effect of leadership on employee performance. Further analysis tool used is the range of the scale, then a simple linear regression for testing the hypothesis with the F-test. The research concludes that leadership is a relationship-oriented behavior and task behavior at SMU Muhammadiyah University of Gresik 3 Branches Bungah went very well. Likewise Employee Performance SMU Muhammadiyah University of Gresik Bungah 3 Branch also went very well. The results further concluded that there is a significant effect on Employee Performance Leadership Education Branch Bungah 3 SMU Muhammadiyah Gresik. On the basis of the above conclusion, should SMU Muhammadiyah University of Gresik 3 Branches Bungah further improve the quality of leadership because leadership proved to have a significant effect on employee performance.
