- The type of research conducted by the writer is a descriptive research which aims to arrange descriptions or phenomena on a problem in detail and systematically. The title of the study is “An Analysis of Coal Mining Company on Financial Performance Registered in Stock Exchange Indonesia”. The purpose of this study was to determine the condition of the financial performance of the coal mining company listed on the stock exchange, as measured by Economic Value Added (EVA) and to find out which company have the best financial performance in the coal mining company listed in the stock exchange. Therefore, the study is about to aim for a company hoped to enhance the information and reference for a making of decision about strategy of the company in creating a value by using Economic Value Added method (EVA). The technique of this study is purposive sampling, and elected eight coal mining company listed on the stock exchange. Data analysis technique used in this study is Time Series Analysis and Cross Section Analysis. Data used for this study is financial report IHSG, SBI common stock prices and prospectus of the company in 2009-2011. Based on the result of the conducted research, it can be concluded that Economic Value Added calculation through Cross Section Analysis, the company which do not have economic value (EVA<0) are PT DarmhaHenwa and the other one that has the best performance is PT Adaro Energy Tbk. Through Time Series Analysis, there are some coal mining companies that cannot provide the increasing in economic value added each year,namely PT Bayan RecourcesTbk and PT PetroseaTbk.
