- Background : Quality of care and quality of documentation of nursing care is influenced by the characteristics of one's personality. The personality characteristics have a role to motivate a person to do a job, especially motivation documenting nursing care. This study aims to determine the relationship between personality characteristics and motivation of nurses documenting nursing care in Ngudi Waluyo Wlingi Blitar hospital. MethodÂ’s : The study design was a correlation study using a predictive correlation approach. The population is a nurse in the room dahlias 1, 2 and Bougenvil. The samples in this study were 40 respondents with a total sampling technique sampling. Independent variables, personality characteristics of nurses and the dependent variable was the motivation to document nursing care. Data analysis using chi-square test ( X2 ). Result : The results showed the value 6,325a withsignificant value or p - value = 0.012 <α ( 0.05 ) , which means that there is a relationship between personality characteristics and motivation of nurses documenting nursing care in Ngudi Waluyo Wlingi Blitar hospital. Conclusion : Based on these results, it is suggested to hospitals and other health institutions Ngudi Waluyo Wlingi Blitar more selective in recruiting new nurses. Especially in the case of such an aggressive personality characteristics, responsibilities, hardworking and competitive. With more attention to personality characteristics and motivation of nurses. So that will create the nurses were better.
