  • Premenstrual syndrome causing symptoms in an adolescent.The changes that occur in adolescents who experience premenstrual syndrome.Namely physical and psychological changes, the changes are causing unpreparedness adolescent premenstrual physical and psychological that may affect many aspects of life. Measures to overcome this is necessary both physical and psychological readiness in the face of premenstrual syndrome. The study design used a qualitative approach with a case study of a purposive sampling method. The subject of research in this case study is An.M with age 14 years and still menstruating, a study in health centers Kedungkandang in September 2014. The data collection method used is in-depth interviews. Analysis of the data used is the analysis domain. The results showed readiness in the face of premenstrual syndrome An.M both physically and psychologically. There are five research themes, namely, the physical and psychological readiness of adolescents in the face of premenstrual syndrome, the experience of pain, menstrual cycles, and pain management. Participants in the physical readiness to regulate nutrition and regular exercise, while the psychological readiness of the participants to think more positively and avoid emotions. In the menstrual cycle can be summed participants was within normal limits or irregular, whereas for pain before and during menstruation pain management among participants use, distraction with positive minded and distract the pain, relaxation with frequent activities to reduce perceived pain, and the latter using the stimulas cutaneous giving massage-massage relaxes on the perceived pain to reduce the pain that is felt.
