- Diabetic is syndrom that is caused by insulin alteration in the body, so, it can cause hyperglicemia. Metabolisme of carbohydrates, lipid and protein can be disturbed too. The family is the smallest unit of a society consisting of head of household and some people who get together and stay in a place under one roof where a state of mutual dependence. This study aims to describe the exsperience of diabetic patientÂ’s family in giving diet for diabetic patient at home, Dinoyo public health center area. This research is a qualitative study with study case approach in which patient and family members are involved. The result of interview is examined by trianggulation method in which the researcher was collecting data from patient, husband and their son. The result of research can be concluded that family is lack of knowledge about diabetic mellitus, family is not able to manage schedule and portion of meals, the activities of patient are cooking and walk around everyday.
