  • Chronic renal failure or end stage renal disease is progressive renal dysfunction and irreversible. Chronic illness can result in physical and psychological changes the patients. Physical changes that occur in the client's life with chronic renal failure can be a trigger of stress that can indirectly affect the health and behavior of individual. Psychological changes that occur can bring emotional reactions one of which is in the form of anxiety. The purpose of this study is to determine the client's psychological response to chronic renal failure. This study used a qualitative approach to the research strategy case study research, using the techniques of non probability purposive sampling approach . Participants in this study is that clients are treated Tn.S in IRNA D with chronic renal failure. Data collection by interview, observation and documentation to the participants that clients, families and carers to test the validity of the data using triangulation techniques. The results of this study indicate that the presence of chronic kidney disease experienced by Mr. S led to physical changes the the client so that these changes led to a psychological response to anxiety. Anxiety makes the client's role the today's life changing, clients feel powerless and resigned to life. From the description above can be drawn some conclusions that chronic renal failure can cause a person to change not only the physical but also psychological.
