- Cardiovascular disease is the number one disease in the world, especially in Indonesian, each year the number is increasing. One example of cardiovascular disease is a disease of STEMI (ST Elevation Myocardial Infarction). STEMI is a disease that causes myocardial necrosis impact to blood flow to the heart muscle is interrupted. STEMI patients usually require intensive care and necessary forsed tool patient monitoring system to observe the patient's vital signs. This affects the psychological state of patients with STEMI who installed the device. This study design uses qualitative methods with case study approach. The sampling method used was purposive sampling. The samples used were three participants in which patients with STEMI, the patient's family and the ICU nurse Wava Husada Hospital Kepanjen Malang in July 2014, Date from this study were taken by using techniques of collecting date through observation, interviews, and documentation, furthermore the results of the date were analyzed using domain analysis and triangulation of date. The results showed that the psychological reaction experience of patients with STEMI patient monitoring equipment installed system experiencing anxiety, accept the installation of equipment, and passive devices for patient monitoring system installed. Looking at these results it is necessary to act intensively observation and have communication from nurse about use the tool that the patient's anxiety can be anticipated if the anxiety appear mild, moderate or severe.
