- Stroke is a major cause of disability and death. Stroke affects an individual's ability to activity daily living , which must be a comprehensive patient management involving bio-psycho socio-spiritual.This study used a qualitative method with a case study approach. The sampling method used was purposive sampling, with the involvement of the main participants and supported two participants in an effort triangulasi source at Wava Husada Kepanjen, in July 2014, the study data were taken by using observation and interview techniques. After the tabulated data were analyzed using content analysis techniques. The results of this study found five themes, namely (1) the physical weakness of the impact of stroke, (2) psychological trauma as a response of hospitalization, (3) require assistance in fulfilling activity in stroke patients, (4) efforts in the treatment of stroke patients, (5) desire to recover in stroke patients. It is expected that family members with stroke are able to provide support and are able to monitor the needs of everyday activities to improve health status.
