- Diabetes mellitus is a disease that can not be cure. A balanced diet is one of way in management of diabetes mellitus. constraint of diabetes mellitus diit handling is burnout of patients to follow dietary therapy and lack of family support, if there is no family support, diabetes mellitus patient will not obey implement diit, so uncontrolled diabetes mellitus and complications occur. The design of this study using the case study method. The sampling method used was purposive sampling. Samples are taken of three respondents, families who care for patients with Diabetes Mellitus clients at home. If there is no family support, patients with diabetes mellitus will not obey implement diet, After the data were tabulated and analyzed using analysis domain. The results show about family support in monitoring of diabetes mellitus in the diet is instrumental support, informational support, emostional support, and treatment seeking health care.
