- Underweight new born are prone to hypothermia due to the condition of her organs are still not fully formed, to overcome the problems that occur in underweight newborn these researchers used a method of kangaroos is by way of "skin to skin contact". The case study method used is descriptive method is performed in space Cut Nyak Dien Hospital Kanjuruhan Kepanjen by interview, observation, physical examination and study of literature. The results showed that the presence of a significant temperature rise that is on the first day of the kangaroo method the temperature results obtained 35.7°C, 36.7°C and the second day of the third day 37.2°C. These results indicate that the kangaroo method of treatment effectiveness in low birth weight babies in preventing hypothermia so expect the results of this study can be used as guidelines in the treatment of hypothermiaon LBW using the kangaroo method.
