  • Geospatial tagging (geotagging) is an emerging and very promising application that can help users find a wide variety of location-specific information, and facilitate the development of future location-based services. Geotagging can help users find a wide variety of location-specific information. For instance, one can find images taken near a given location by entering latitude and longitude coordinates into a suitable image search engine. Geotagging-enabled information services can also potentially be used to find location-based news, websites, or other resources.[2] Geotagging can tell users the location of the content of a given picture or other media or the point of view, and conversely on some media platforms show media relevant to a given location. The related term geocoding refers to the process of taking non-coordinate based geographical identifiers, such as a street address, and finding associated geographic coordinates (or vice versa for reverse geocoding). Geotagging can help users find a variety of GPS position information data such as latitude and longitude. For example Geotagging on SMS messages, one can know the position of a sending SMS via a mobile device is used to add information based on latitude and longitude coordinates of the position of sending SMS which is then incorporated into the SMS and the SMS sent to the recipient when the recipient opens the SMS content of the message, the message will be available in the location of the position information of the SMS sender. This will facilitate the SMS recipient to know the position of the sender of an SMS in an accurate and realiable.
