- The Earlier Suckle Initiation is the condition where the baby is going to have his/ her own suckling soon after he/ she was born that is done by cutting the umbilical cord and drying up his/ her body except for his/ her hand when he/ she was born, then without is being bathed the baby is going to be taken on mother?s chest, so that the baby is able to look for the mother?s nipple for getting suckle. Nevertheless, the practice of IMD especially in Indonesia is quiet low. This research is aimed to identifying the correlation between the knowledge of child-birth helper and the successness of the earlier suckle initiation in child-birth ward of Kanjuruhan Hospital of Kepanjen. There are 7 chlid-birth helpers who grow to be respondents in this research. This research applies quantitative research desain and collects the data by using questioner and observation. The experiment of the correlation between knowledge and success is done by using simple regression linear test. The finding of this research shows that the IMD?s program has been applied in the child-birth ward of Kanjuruhan Hospital in Kepanjen. The result of analizyng by using using simple regression linear method shows that the statistic of t arithmetic is bigger than t table (4,655>2,570) so HO is refused which is meant that there is significant correlation between knowledge of child-birth helper and the success of the earlier suckle initiation. Based on what has been found in this research, to optimalize the function of child-birth helper and minimize the mistake of realization of IMD, it is suggested for the hospital?s team or for them whom have a responsibility to socialize IMD that is to give back the correct information concerning to the procedure of the realization of IMD to the child-birth helpers in order to maximize their role either as the educator or the practioner. It is so for supporting the realization and the success of IMD either for the mother or the baby.
