- Knowledge is the result of knowing, and this happens after people doing sensing of a particular object. Chronic kidney failure is kidney damage that occurred during the 3 months or more, or structural abnormalities of renal function with or without a reduction in filtration rate, adaptation or adjustment is a dynamic relationship between the functioning of the world's organisms and their environment, hemodialysis is defined as the movement of solution and water patient's blood through the membrane semipermiabel (dialyser) into the dialysate, a person's knowledge about the status of chronic renal failure will affect their ability to adapt to the conditions of illness. So as to undergo therapy or treatment in accordance with the conditions. From the results of research with the number of 13 respondents found the majority of 53.8% (7 respondents) have enough knowledge about chronic renal failure. The purpose of this research is to determine the relationship of knowledge about renal failure patients with psychological adaptation during hemodialysis therapy. In this study the methods used are correlative. Population studies of all patients with chronic renal failure following the regular hemodialysis therapy in "Ruang Hemodialisa RSU Kanjuruhan Kepanjen Kabupaten Malang". Sampling technique used was purposive sampling, with a sample of 13 peoples. Collecting data in this study using a questionnaire. From the results of research with the total number of 13 respondents obtained most of which 53.8% (7 respondents) have a capacity sufficient psychological adaptation. there is a relationship of knowledge about chronic renal failure with the psychological adaptation of patients with chronic renal failure in "Ruang Hemodialisa RSU Kanjuruhan Kepanjen Kabupaten Malang". Researchers recommend that health workers provide information to patients and families of patients with chronic renal failure in order to gain additional knowledge about chronic renal failure that can adapt better to disease and treatment conditions.
