- Mental disorder is a condition of symptomps of clinically significant syndrome or pattern of behsvior, psychological syndrome or pattern associated with distres or suffering. In patients with severe mental that required treatment in hospital. The tratment is widely is used in patients with mental disorders other than drug use was also carried out physical restraint, restraint or commonlybcalled. Restraint is usually performed or patients with mental illnes crisis phase which aims to rstrict endanger hemselves, others or the environtment. When the result from nursing care in patient of crisis phase is not to endanger paient and other people. This study aims to identify the efectivity of restraint in crisis phase overcome in patient of mental disorder in Perkutut Room RSJ Dr. Radjiman Wediodiningrat Lawang Malang. This metode research is use one group pra test post test design research. The population is patiebt of mental disorder in Perkutut Room RSJ Dr. Radjiman Wediodiningrat Lawang Malang, and the sample is ten patient of mental disorder which is crisis phase. The sample is use purposive sampling. The independent variable is restraint and dependent variable is crisis phase. Data result is show that from ten responder which is done restraint before, there is 100% in crisis phase and after restrait is 70% in acute phase and 30% in maintenance phase. According to analyze use Wilcoxon test, the differences of after and before restraint show the P value is 0,005. If P value is smaller than 0,05, so the conclusion is Ho is refused and H1 is accepted. It means that restraint is efective in overcoming the crisis phase in patient of mental disorder in Perkutut Room RSJ Dr. Radjiman Wediodiningrat Lawang Malang.
