- Family environment are directly influent in educating a child due at the time of birth, and for the next period which is long enough, children need help from family and others to establish his life, including in their playing creativity. Therefore, the child must be grown to love things that stimulate their creativity. The purpose of this study is Knowing there any relationship between the appropriation of motivation by the family of creative play on mentally retarded children. This research uses correlative study. Samplings techniques used in this study was purposive sampling technique that is as much as 29 families and 29 mentally retarded children. The data were obtained from questionnaires and observations, and then analyzed using chi-square test. From the research results obtained were largely in the family motivation is good that is 27 respondents (93%), while mostly on playing creativity into the creative category of 24 respondents (83%). From the data analysis showed that XÂ2hitung (1,67) > XÂ2table (0,88), Based on the above shows that there is a significant relationship between the appropriation of Playing Creativity Motivation by Family on Mental Retardation children. That means that the motivation provided by the family influence on a child's creativity, especially children with mental retardation.
