  • Menstrual or menstrual blood discharge from the vagina of women in a certain time. Menstrual cycle length is the distance between the start date of the last menstrual period and the beginning of the next menstruation. The length of a normal menstrual cycle is 28 days, while the common is 25-32 days. Length of menstrual usually 3-5 days and 7-8 days there are up to. Most young women often experience cramps or pain in lower abdomen during menstruation. Pain and bleeding between menstrual cycles is that menstrual bleeding can occur without pain and vice versa pain can occur without the release of menstrual blood. The result of the interview the researcher on a preliminary study of 10 college student who got 50% mention experiencing menstrual pain or dysmenorrhoea during menstruation. With this preliminary study showed a population of 160 students with 62 college student sample. They were taken using purposive sampling technique. Independent variables in this research is the menstrual cycle and the dependent variable is the level of menstrual pain. Collecting data using a questionnaire. Data were analyzed with statistical tests "Spearman Rank" with significant value 0.000 <0.01 from the H1 α Ho accepted and rejected. Results obtained 37 respondents (60%) of normal menstrual cycle length is probably affected by the age factor, psychological, genetic and possibly also health status. Medium 28 respondents (45%) mild menstrual pain level is influenced by the hormone progesterone, health status, psychology, and the length of a normal cycle. H1 accepted, meaning there is a significant relationship between the menstrual cycle with menstrual pain level on the students of UMM FIKES Nursing Diploma Program.
