- A nurse has an interdependent function in which she or he depends on medical team including doctors who give complex nursing supervision. In order to do the interdependent function, a nurse will run collaborative practice which means doing her or his job hand in hand in the authority scope. Knowing the nurses? authority in Ministry of Health?s Decree number 1239/2001 is a compulsory in order to run good collaboration. Moreover, nurses are no longer "the doctors? right hands", they are outside of those instead. In other words, it can be said that nurses possess independence. Therefore, nurses must be legally liable in doing their job. The objective of this research is to find the correlation between nurses? knowledge on nurses? authority and doctor-nurse collaboration. Research design used is cross sectional correlation study. Sampling is taken from 30% of the whole nurses who work in four rooms in Public Hospital of Kanjuruhan Kepanjen (50 nurses). The instruments employed are questionnaires. Data analysis is done by using Spearman Product. From the analysis, it turns out that the coefficient correlation is 0,54 with significant 3,84 (α=0,05). Therefore, it can be deduced that H1 is accepted?there is a significant correlation between nurses? knowledge on nurses? authority and doctor-nurse collaboration in Public Hospital of Kanjuruhan Kepanjen. From that conclusion, it?s important to socialize about nurses? authority for nurses, so the good collaboration between doctor and nurse can be done.
