- Voice over Internet Protocol (VoIP) is a technology that enable voice message transmission over data network (internet protocol). Codec is a device or computer program capable of transforming signal or data stream. The usage of appropriate codec at implementation VoIP is one thing determining in attainment of quality VoIP communications. In this final project, has conducted measurements and testing of the performance of iLBC codec on SIP protocol-based VoIP network. From the measurements and the test, obtained the average value of throughput with giving load of TCP is 6.498 Mbits / sec and obtained the average value of throughput with giving load of UDP is 7,313 Mbits / sec, while the average MOS value obtained is 3.8332.From the results of these values shows that the quality of iLBC codec on a VoIP network based on SIP protocol, can be categorized occupy a fairly good quality for voice communication.
