- Students of Informatics Engineering of University of Muhamamdiyah Malang will have the field of interest selection when entering the sixth semester. This field of interest selection should be considered wisely so that the students could trained their ability based on their interest. The decision which taken with less consideration will lead the students having some difficulties in studying and receiving the course materi and finishing the task giving by the lecturer. Because of the reason mentioned above, we build decision support system which purpose helping the students to choose which field of interest they prefer. This system is build based on the Analytic Hierarchy Process (AHP) method with some criterias that is interest, school grade, field of interest, interest with job that consist of 8 kind of jobs, interest based on factor of interest they are ability factor which consist of 7 factors, personal factor which consist of 3 factors, and learning factor which consist of 3 factors. The result of the application testing, it is gained the matching rank between student?s interest and interest suggestion giving by the system. It is shown that the implementation of AHP algorithm with the criterias mentioned before could be used as a decision support for selecting field of interest in Informatics Engineering Department.
