- Developmental disorders in children are reported each year is increasing. An increasing number of persons with developmental disorders of children is not comparable to the number of professionals who study this field. Required an understanding of knowledge regarding child development disorders and an increase in preventive and promotive efforts. The purpose of making this application for designing expert systems that adopt the rete algorithm in JESS reasoning engine to produce expert systems that can perform diagnosis of the type of developmental disorders in children and their advice or therapy. Knowledge about the disorder and its symptoms are represented in the knowledge-base form of a database which then inference-engine with advanced reasoning process in generating the kind of interference by the symptoms entered by the user via the user interface with a model of dialogue between the system and users. The application is equipped with facilities to edit the knowledge used in the data changes on the knowledge base. The application is built using JAVA programming while the data base used for MySQL (Structured Query Language). Expert system-based desktop application generates output in the form that carried the possibility of interference by the user based on the consultation process. The system also displays advice or therapy against the possibility of interference that carried it. The results of external tests on the questionnaire showed that the application is made may be used by the user easily and can provide information and be able to make the process as an expert in the field of clinical psychology.
