- A cartoon movie is the products of technological development and television industry. Firstly, cartoons are always identical with children movies. But whether the cartoon was still a kids movie so far? If we’re trying to flashbacks again, maybe we often or at least may have read or heard the children's misbehavior as imitating his idol cartoon character. Or maybe there’s a child is injured or killed due to imitate scenes on his favorite cartoons. The phenomenon of violence in cartoons until now still keep coming. Many parents lamented the number of violent scenes contained in cartoons today especially for cartoons that told about heroic story. There have been so many parents who complained to the TV station or film censor board to stop or at least censor cartoons which packed lot of scenes contained violence and pornography. Upon the phenomenon stated above that the researchers tried to analyze how the frequency of violence occurrences in cartoon movies. The title that selected for the research is the Naruto cartoon because this cartoon led so many protests from parents but its also become a favorite cartoon for their children. Their children will always be faithful waiting for the episode after episode of Naruto that broadcasted on television or buy a vcd Naruto who had been sold freely in the market with affordable price. The purpose of this study was to determine how much the frequency of scenes that contained violences at Naruto cartoon. This research uses content analysis method with descriptive statistical tools. The purpose of content analysis is to represent accurately the message frame. This study employs a unit of dialogue and scene analysis as an important part of the movie, with the category structure of physical violence with violence indicators using bare hands, weapons, ninja technics, and psychological violence with violence indicators of mock and say harshly scold, yelling, and the other psychological violence (threats and face expressions). This study uses a unit of measurement of the violencs occurence percentages. This research shown that the violence occurences at first episode are 20 scenes or 60,61% from the total of 33 scenes and 25 times violence occurs. Then for the scenes that not shown violences at all just only have 13 scenes or 39,39%. From verbal violence category, the violences occures for 8 scenes with precentages is 24,24%. Then for non verbal violence category that occures is 8 scenes. Then for psychological violence that occures is 28.78% or 135 scenes from the total of 469 scenes. Conclusions from the research showed the violence in this film reveals that many cartoons today aren’t only a children's film, but also a teen movie and even for adults. Many cartoons now are not only displays the entertainment side, but also at least one or two scenes from each episode of violence is occured. Percentage occurrence of physical violence is greater than the psychological violence that indicates in this film is rich with fighting scenes. The fight usually occurs when a character like no other figure, ninja training, implementation of certain missions and so forth. This is clearly not good consumed by the children because sooner or later, intentionally or not, part of the Naruto series that viewers are still under age will imitate the scenes contained in the Naruto movie.
