- Various diseases and physiological disturbances can caouse bedrest condition. Immobilization for a long time (bedrest) can cause some physiological responds suchas : the change of musculloskeletal system, cardiovascular change, respiratory change, urinary change, bowel change and inlegument change. Inlegument change may cause ulkus dekubitus. Ulkus dekubitus is an impact of pinched blood vessel between sufferer’s bone and sufferer’s bad board. In the effort to increase health level, nurse’s knowledge about ulkus and both its cause and preventive action is needed. Therefore, researcher is interested in doing research on nurse’s knowledge level about preventive action of ulkus dekubitus on bedrest patient. This research has purpose to know nurse’s knowledge level about preventive action of ulkus dekubitus on bedrest patient that is treated in hospital. Advantage of this research is ti minimize the occurance of ulkus dekubitus, so that people belief in hospital treatment increase. Design which is used in this research is descriptive with population sample of all nurse in internal, surgical, neurological shed totaled 56 respondents. Method used is quantitative score. After the research was done, it is obtained that nurse’s knowledge about preventive action of ulkus dekubitus is 80,79% in good category. With the average of nurse’s knowledge wich is good, it chould be able to develop nurse’s ability in doing preventive action of ulkus dekubitus, so that the occurance rate of ulkus deukbitus can be minimized.
