- PT. Surya Mas Agung is a manufacturer of tire retreading where there is a problem of inefficient handling distribution in the process of shipping goods to the branches on the island of Java, the lack of attention to the request, the route is too long and the number of vehicles that so much that lead to high distribution costs. Saving Matrix Method is a method that is applied and can be used to assign facilities or means of conveyance to the customer even if no delivery time limit. Thus, in this study using Matrix Saving aimed to determine vehicle assignments and routing as possible so as to minimize distribution costs. In applying the matrix Saving Methods, first performed the calculation of average demand to know the size of each branch order, specify the distance matrix or distance measurements with google earth, determine the savings matrix, assign customers to a vehicle or route, and sorting route to the consumer using the procedure Nearest Neighbor to get a route that gives the smallest cost. Saving Method of applying matrix is obtained the number of routes with the smallest cost is 3 routes and distribution cost savings amounting to USD 6,662,532.5, -/month or percentage of savings amounting to 44.7% and a decline in total vehicle mileage of 2624.4 km / month.
