Without management ability of good emotion, someone will find difficulties in interacting with others. Intelligence of emotion is not possibly at moment's notice do formed without existence of a practice process and study. Increasingly someone can control emotion owned, recognizes emotion, solvent of 
self-motivation, solvent of empathy with others and can construct effective relationship with others carefully, excelsior also intelligence of its emotion. Area of residence also influences height and the low of intelligence of emotion of someone. Intention of this research is to know difference of level of intelligence 
of emotion evaluated from residence area. This research is quantitative research. In this research, independent 
variable used is adolescent residence area and its dependent variables are emotion intelligence. Subject entangled comes from two places, that are adolescent who 
live in pondok pesantren 31 adolescent and that is not lived in pondok pesantren 33 adolescent. Data collecting method in this research applies emotion intelligence scale, while data analytical technique uses technique t-test. 
Result of research shows there are difference of level of intelligence of emotion evaluated from adolescent residence area significant between adolescents who live in pondok pesantren with doesn't live in pondok pesantren where 
intelligence of adolescent emotion who live in higher pondok pesantren compared to adolescent that is not lived in pondok pesantren, with value t = 2,412; p = 
0,019. Subject having intelligence value of high emotion gotten by adolescent who live in pondok pesantren that is equal to 64,45% while adolescent percentage
