  • Background. Chronic Renal Failure (CRF) had irreversible decreased of renal function as the manifestation. The increased of chronic renal failure population would show the CRF’s complication, for instance an increased of kalium level (hyperkalemia). Arrhythmia was a clinical manifestation of hyperkalemia. Purpose. To find out the correlation of hyperkalemia on chronic renal failure and the incidence of arrhytmia. Research Method. The observational analytic method by cross sectional approach. The CRF patients under included and excluded criteria, administrated in the medical record in Jombang Public Hospital since January to June 2009. Lambda hypothesis was used to determine the correlations. Experimental Result. 33 samples of CRF patients showed that 11 patients (33.3%) had hyperkalemia with arrhythmia, but 6 patients (18.2%) didn’t have arrhythmia. In the other hand, 16 patients (48.5%) had normokalemia level without arrhythmia and there wasn’t a case with arrhythmia. The result of Lambda hypothesis concluded that there was a correlations of hyperkalemia on chronic renal failure and the incidence of arrhytmias and it showed bysignificant grades = 0.022 <α=0.05 and the correlation’s coefficient = 0.625. Conclusion. There was a significant correlation of hyperkalemia on chronic renal failure and the incidence of arrhytmia.
