- In the development of competitive and challenging global market, company has to use the business opportunity optimally. To fill the demand on the exact time it needs the exact planning about the measurement of the material for the making of product and when the material has to be ordered so there will be no late in the process. The problem appeared in PT. Hanil Jaya Metal Works is the requirement of raw material that not exact. In the result, it need more cost from the cost of research, in the process and the ordering process for the building material. The total of this building material is fluctuate in the certain period of time, so the company has to be able to make a good planning about raw material product of metal bar appropriate with the size and the amount which is ordered and then deliver it on time. The purpose of this research is to get the supply of raw material and to get the limited cost by using MPR method (Material Requirement Planning) so there will be no raw material hoarding in the storage and meet the demand as the order from the customer on time. The result of the research shows that the raw material is well planned along August until October by using exponential smoothing approach and it shows a limitation in saving cost and per lot cost by using Economic Order Quantity (EOQ) and Lot for Lot. It means there are lot things to do in the raw material planning so the exact planning and limitation of cost can be reached.
