Civil engineering (General)</subject><description>Web Service is a term refers to distributed or virtual applications or processes use the internet to connect the many activities or software components. Other systems will interact with the web service using interface of SOAP (Simple Object Access Protocol). The format of the SOAP messages that are exchanged is in form of Extensible Markup Language (XML). Security becomes a very important thing applied to the web service when there is exchange of critical data. Losses can occur if the exchange of data on the web service is known by other parties. Encryption is a solution. Hybrid cryptography using RSA cipher and AES cipher is applied to secure SOAP message. RSA cipher use to secure the exchange of a symmetric key of AES and secure username and password. XML Encryption on web service has proved to maintain the security of SOAP messages.
