- At this time the computer network technology is increasingly being used both us to time efficiency in the delivery of data and prevent damage to data. One of the tools used for network simulation is Network Simulation 2 (NS2). With Network Simulation 2 (NS2) to simulated a network traffic, to determine the performance of a particular network by simulation. In this final Measurement to determine the performance of routing protocol OSPF (Open Shortes Path First) to send the internet data on the network backbone FDDI (Fiber Distributed Data Interface) from the source router to destination router, which is influenced by large variations in bandwidth and delay traffic. While the performance result of the comparison parameter is the average throughput, delay and packet loss. For my observation, it can be concluded that the OSPF routing protocol is very good in finding the shortest path to send data by finding the smallest cost among the link in the network. In the first measurement result, if the value bandwidth 5Mb and 0.1ms delay value, the value of the average throughput in scenario 1, 2 and 3 = 31,75kbps. Means the average yield grather throughput when compared with the average yield by increasing the value of delay due to bandwidth 5Mbps still able to overcome the delay 0,1ms to transmit data and the absence of packet loss. If the value of fixed bandwidth and delay value further enlarged, the result of the average throughput will be smaller compared with the average delay will be greater and the number of packet loss will be greater as well.
