- Voice Over Internet Protocol (VoIP) technology is capable of passing voice traffic, and video over IP networks. One of the supporters of VoIP is a protocol that is one of the IAX protocol. IAX is a binary protocol that is designed for bandwidth efficiency. The working principle of this thesis is to build a wireless based VoIP system with Asterisk servers and protocols for using the IAX protocol. The purpose of this thesis is to measure the performance of the Speex speech codec. Measurement of Speech codec done by measuring the parameters of Quality of Service that aims to demonstrate the ability of a network to provide better service to service passing traffic.
