- Household wives can be defined as women who manage various household works. Malang City is the second largest city in East Java Province. Living in Malang City with higher life cost caused heavier burden and it made difficult a household wife. A wife is also pushed to run their function to search for additional income for family to support the family economy burden. The purpose effort sometimes done correctly, but many of them also pass the wrong way such as being commercial sex worker. This research tried to understood household wives who work as commercial sex worker. The research purpose is finding out why household wives work as commercial sex worker also understanding their choice as commercial sex worker. Method used in this research is case study method with qualitative approach. The research subject is household wife who work as commercial sex worker in Jl.Pajajaran Klojen Malang City consist of five people. Data collection technique in this research are observation, interview, and documentation. The data analysis technique used is data reduction, data serve and conclusion taking. Theory used in this research is symbolic interaction theory by Geroge Herbert Mead. Research result shows that household wives who work as commercial sex worker in their work as commercial sex worker has these definition as fulfilling economy, searching fun, and compensation which caused by their husbands who leave them. Some factors caused household wives work as commercial sex worker are friends, environment, economy factors. Efforts done by commercial sex worker in working: bringing their motorcycle, wearing attractive fashion (eccentric), and using distributor service.
