  • Steganography is a technique for hiding a secret or sensitive information without being seen to not look like it should. It often happens theft and misuse of digital data that makes data is not safe anymore and hurt many parties. Because of the lack of security of data, developed the technology to protect digital data, one with steganography. With the limitations of human vision in terms of pixel intensity that distinguish only a slight change in an image or change color with a very small variation. Secret data is hidden by means inserted at a specific media that are not visible that is hidden in the media an information. The first user (sender of the message) to send the media that has been inserted such confidential information through public communication channels, to be accepted by the second user (receiver). Message recipients can extract secret information contained therein. Use is also made to strengthen key security, where the only key that is used at the time of insertion that can extract the message. Steganographic techniques using DCT (Discrete Cosine Transform), which make changes to the DCT coefficients in the figure according to feedback messages. This method occurs in the frequency domain in the image, rather than the spatial domain, so there will be no changes are seen on the cover image. In this final, made a steganography application using J2SE and NetBeans programming languages as tools to help. This application can hide some information or a secret message into the media of digital images using the DCT method. Steganography applications can be used to maintain information security from theft or from people who have no right to know.
