- The development in the technology of electronics and computers makes programming more complex with more functions. One of the disciplines starting to develop is Biometric. Biometric includes processes namely finger recognition, voice recognition, iris recognition, face recognition, etc. Face recognition with A Web Camera (webcam) is an elaboration is meant for recognizing one's face standing in front of a webcam, which functions as the data input for the face recognition program. The program face recognition with A Web Camera is made with using the programming language Java. This goal of this final project is to implement a face detection software using Principal Component Analysis method. This application wa implemented by use input image that captured from webcam or from open file. This program can be enhanced to be the attendance list machine and the security system in chambers of important/secret things. From the test that have been made, the 80% of the result has succeed. The reason of the unfailed is because of there are differences of the distance from the face to the webcam when on the training and when the recognition.
