- The background of this research is a social group that forms the similarities they love Metal music, and also for the layman social groups as it only has a negative impact, but the fact they also have a positive side as forms of the network they are doing. Metal Head Banger Community Malang is one of the metal community in the Malang city. The research problem is how to form community networks that exist in Malang Metal Head Banger. The research type is descriptive with qualitative approach where research subject is Malang Metal Head Banger community. The subject amount is 5 people with criteria determination provided by research subject. Data collection the research technique is by free interview, unstructured observation and review to written documents. The research uses data analysis technique with interactive analysis model of Miles and Haberman, which have four activities line which happened such as: data collection, data education, data service and conclusion, are analysis using description and also analysis review about social network. Theory used in analyzing this matter uses “Social Network” theory from Wellman. Based on the results of the study, obtained a conclusion that there are three (3) form a network by Malang Metal Head Banger community that is, forms of network contained in Malang Metal Head Banger community itself, form a network that carried out by other metal community, and form networks undertaken with other communities like punk, emo, hardcore, and others. Malang Metal Head Banger Community has 5 (five) existing metal flow in the community that is death metal, heavy metal, death core, slamming death metal and brutal death metal. In strengthening networks within communities and also with other metal community they have a core purpose that is “metal” music itself. To strengthen networks with other communities there Malang Metal Head Banger community have norms agreed by each shape in the existing network, so that with the norms of the community Malang Metal Head Banger and other communities share the benefit.
