  • Social capital is one important aspect in the life of society, the basic concept of social capital in the study of sociology consists of three main basic concepts of Trust, Networks and Norms. Of course, in our society we have encountered a lot of the elements of a society that is essentially a strengthening of social capital. One of them is strengthening the social capital of the community are used for the development of a tourist village. In particular, It is seen in the hamlet Kungkuk, Punten Village, District Bumiaji, Kota Batu. Kungkuk Hamlet is one of the tourist destinations in Batu that was deliberately drafted to the tourist village. Hamlet Kungkuk tourist village is a settlement area that is still very natural, both in its natural condition or social communities, where the majority of the livelihoods of the population is employed in the agricultural sector, the local communities are all potential packed into a tourist attraction. Based on the above background, seen from the day-to-day activities of the villagers kungkuk the tour, it is certainly one indication that the application of social capital in local communities. Therefore, researchers are interested to perform a study on "Social Capital in the Development of Rural Tourism (Studies in Society Kungkuk Hamlet Village District Bumiaji Punten Batu)". For those researchers focused this study, a study into the formulation of the problem more deeply about "What are the forms and functions of social capital in local communities." The research method used in this research is descriptive qualitative method, which conducted the study site in the hamlet Kungkuk, Punten Village, District Bumiaji, Batu, East Java Province. The study subjects berdasr determined certain criteria, which totaled 19 people Kungkuk Dusun community, including local villagers, local community leaders, village board type, as well as the local village chief. Data collection techniques in this study is the observation, interview and documentation. The technique of data analysis is data collection, data reduction, presentation and conclusion. Based on the analysis conducted by researchers in the field is found. First, (1) trust between farmers and the village board type, (2) belief among villagers by the village board kungkuk type, (3) trust between citizens and tourists, (4) Belief youth with tourist village officials and residents, (5 ) trust between citizens and the village government. Of these forms of trust has functions for development of rural tourism, namely: (a) The form of societal expectations hamlet kungkuk to get reciprocal mutual benefit, particularly economic income of a better society (b) Motivate the hamlet kungkuk to actively participate in development of rural tourism (c) Encourage the hamlet kungkuk to do a better job (d) Maintaining harmony and security of the people, for the realization of a tourist village and superior quality. Secondly, (1). Network of cooperation between citizens and tourist village board. (2). Cooperation network among youth with type village board. (3). Network of cooperation between the village board tours with local government. (4). Network of cooperation between local communities and external agencies (travel, forestry, outbound Indonesia) Of all the forms of the network has the function of proficiency level is pretty good for the development of rural tourism kungkuk ie, (a) As a form of economic empowerment of local communities, as collaboration and direct engagement with the public local (b) As part of the promotion of citizen kungkuk, whole communities on the rural tourism kungkuk (c) For the preservation or conservation of the natural environment kungkuk hamlets, through strengthening the human resources in the management of local resources (d) Serves providing welfare locals. Third (1) Culture mutual cooperation and neighborly community kungkuk hamlet (2) Culture kungkuk traditional village society. And the functions of the norms for the development of rural tourism kungkuk itself, namely (a) the local culture and traditions of the local people can be packed into a tourist attraction which attracts tourists to travel to the village visit kungkuk (b) norms and the value function as the order that regulates social life pattern (c) culture or social culture serves the local community as a means of identifying a group of people.
