- The purpose of this study was to estimate the amount of carbon stored in forest vegetation plant P. merkusii Jungh et de Vriese at RPH Coban Rondo BKPH Pujon KPH Malang is the standing crop and undergrowth. The experiment was conducted in February 2013. Research sites located in pine plantations plots 83 da 84 slaughterhouse Coban Rondo BKPH Pujon KPH Malang. Analysis of tree and plant biomass under performed in the laboratory of University land Muhammadiyah Malang (UMM). Research site is a protected area in South Pujon production forest in which there is Coban Rondo forest tour. RPH Coban Rondo has an area of 20 hectares. The tools used in sampling stems or twigs that phi band, tape meter, rolmeter, machetes, scissors, christen meters, pole vault, ovens, knives, description cards, stationery and blank observation. Materials used are branches of trees and undergrowth. The results showed the most carbon reserves in the study area are stored at the level of the tree that has a diameter of> 30 cm, in the amount of 959.06 tons. Carbon stocks at least in the study area are stored at the plant level down, in the amount of 32.752 tons. Reserves of carbon stored in forest vegetation plants Pinus Jungh et de Vriese on plot 83 RPH Coban Rondo BKPH Pujon KPH Malang with an area of 20 hectares is equal to 1447.632 tons, equivalent to 72.382 tons / ha. Vegetation on plots 83 and 84 RPH Coban Rondo BKPH Pujon KPH Malang can absorb as much carbon dioxide gas 26.5402 ton / ha. With a total area of 20 ha, the area can absorb carbon dioxide (CO2) emissions by 530.806 tonnes.
