- Fish including perishable commodity and can be easily damaged if placed in an open space. The cause of the damage to the fish which are active microorganisms present in the fish, which at room temperature, microorganisms can multiply rapidly. Therefore fishermen using ice cubes during fishing for fish condition in order to stay fresh while TPI (Fish Auction). This method is relatively ineffective and inefficient because the ice cubes will melt before the land. Alternative methods for cooling the fish are using the refrigeration system. The refrigeration system is more efficient to reduce the use of ice cubes during this. So as to reduce the disadvantages faced by the fishermen this time. A refrigerator is a form of power tools and work with the system the compressor, condenser, evaporator and expansion valve. The design of cooling machine for 1 ton of fish obtained the following results : Dimensions of the box are length 1500 mm, width 1000 mm, height 850 mm. And outside the box dimensions are 1900 mm long, 1187 mm wide and 932 mm high, with a total cooling load of 1.5812 kW, While the compressor power required 0.1730 kW, length of 2200 mm pipe evaporator, length of 2560 mm pipe condenser and expansion valve used is a thermostatically expansion valve.
