- In fact gas emissions produced by the burning of motor vehicles in general have a negative impact on the environment. So need to be taken several steps to control the exhaust gas generated. There are several ways that can be taken to resolve the issue is with the emissions test, the selection of alternative fuels and environmentally friendly use of catalytic converters. Catalytic converter is a device that is located in front of the exhause pre-silencer or muffler, which serves to transform substances of combustion (HC, CO,) be environmentally friendly substances (H2O, CO2). Catalytic converter technology continues to evolve, as an example of a fibrous ceramic coated with precious metals such as platinum, palladium and rhodium. But the catalytic converter models have high abundance and the prices quite expensive. Thus the use of alternative materials that have high abundance and simpler and cheaper as well as pipes and brass plate. This type of research is experimental research. This is evident from the results of studies showing that a decline in the concentration of exhaust emissions of hydrogen and carbon monoxide when using a catalytic converter, a significant difference was the concentration of HC and CO after experiencing the test.
