- Friction stir welding is a welding process without the use of fillers , but by using a rotating shoulder to connect the weld material. Friction stir welding is not used in the process of welding electrodes, using a rotating shoulder running and pressing the material will cause the temperature and residual stress resulting material connection between welds. Posed temperature does not reach the melting point so it does not alter the micro structure of the weld material. Material flow or material flow is one part of the friction stir welding is a phenomenon in which the weld material will be mixed and the resulting flow of iterations of the rotating shoulder. Stress generated by the shoulder of the material will leave residual stresses that result in unequal iterated and spread material. Temperature on material flow anaisa ignored since reaching the melting point.
