  • Coconut fiber is a waste of the coconuts part which have not been utilized to the maximum, while the plastic is a material that can not be broken down into micro-organisms, composite is a combination of two kinds or more material, so it will be a new and more useful material. The process in this research using a tensile test method, coconut coir fiber is separated between the fiber and the skin, and the chopped the fiber with a length of about 1-5 mm and then mixed the fiber in a plastic type material HDPE (High Density Polyethylene) with the percentage of fiber 0%, 5%, 10 %, 15%, 20%, later in the injection molding material with a temperature of 150 ̊ C. The results showed that the larger percentage composition of coconut fiber will be decrease the tensile strength of this materia.
