  • This tool is made referring to the problem of how to make a heat transfer simulation tool that is easily understood by students. And also how big do I calculate the heat transfer that occurs. While the goal is to provide an overview of students about the process of heat transfer by forced convection. And also train students to use formulas of heat transfer with data taken directly from the simulation tool. The main design of the tools that will be created consisting of a metal conduit that have been isolated, then in the pipeline will be fed hot air generated from a tool that is a hair dryer. A copper pipe of smaller diameter which has been fitted with temperature sensors before, will be placed inside the iron pipe. Then the copper pipes will be drained of water by using a pump. Expected to be an exchange of heat between the hot air contained in the iron pipe with a flow of water that is in the copper pipe. So the farther the distance traveled by water in copper pipes, then the temperature will also increase. The results of this final task will be obtained a simulation tool of forced convection heat transfer with fluid flow direction, and also the results of the calculation of heat transfer that occurs at each point is: At point 1with distance of 0.4 m the heat transfer is 680.035 W, and difference in water temperature measurements at 11.359 0C. At point 2 with distance of 0.6 m of the heat transfer is 595.053 W, and the difference in water temperature measurements at 10.397 0C. At point 3 with a distance of 0.8 m of the heat transfer is 510.07 W, and the difference in water temperature of 7.854 measurements 0C. At point 4 with a distance of 1 m of the heat transfer is 425.088 W, and the difference in water temperature measurements at 9.25 0C.
