- Vertical Axis Wind Turbine (TASV) Helix type lights for street lighting is designed to wind speed at 5 m / s. Blade geometry selected iron pipe diameter 1 ". 146 watt power turbine plan, with a 12V 7AH battery as power storage. Using LED lights for more light and small power is needed. The collection of survey data that is needed: the needs of power, wind speed, design planning include: the calculation of blade dimensions; selection of materials including: plate, steel pipe, fiberglass, aluminum and manufacturing of wind turbines. Helix type wind turbine with the number two propeller blades are designed in accordance with the conditions of low wind speed. To meet the needs of street lights lamps, some assumptions will be used to design a propeller-shaped helik. This wind turbine generator in connecting with the axial flux type (AFPMG - Axial Flux Permanent Magnet Generator). This generator in accordance with wind turbines because it has a low round and can connect directly to the main turbine shaft thus eliminating transmission losses. On testing the vertical axis wind turbine without generator helix type values obtained Tip Speed Ratio (TSR) of 0.9.
